Mexico is certainly colour-full…
but it is also dramatic.
It is a place of contrasts.
Dark and light. Life and death. Rich and poor. Beauty and ugliness are always close together.
Mostly it is a bright sunny place- but it also has a dark side to it (which I wish never to meet).
Above– Lake Chapala looking south and east from Mezcala Island.
Above-Looking toward the village of Mezcala on the north shore east of Chapala.
This part of the lake is very dramatic with the hills coming right down to the water and a single lane road clinging to the cliffside.
Above and below- Ajijic. Some years the lake is high
Above and below– In an old Hacienda near Guadalahara.
Below– Classic columns in Morelia
Above- A ruined Hacienda in Michoacan
Below-High above the lake in the mountains.
Below- An old Hacienda wall.
Below-Trees on Mezcala Island
Above and below– The pyramid at Monte Coxala with a thermal heated swimming pool on the interior.
Below-the hilltown of Tapalpa where much more wood is used as there are pine forests surrounding the town.
Below– the volcano of Colima taken from a moving car. The peak to the left is actually fuming.
