NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

Above-The twin peaks of Mount Shasta in the north of California.

Above backroads along the northern coast near Ferndale.

Above- The Smith River at Jedediah Smith State Park in the redwoods near the Oregon border.

Above-Redwoods near the river.

Above– a chance encounter with a 1938 Czech Tatra gives sense of the size of an average redwood tree.

Below– the town of Ferndale has a good collection of nineteenth century architecture.

Above– looking out over the blue Pacific. Those Tatras again were following me.

Along the Big Sur coast.

Above sand dunes near Camp Pendleton.

Above Looking down at the suburban sprawl below creeping up to the sides of the mountain.

Above–Mount Diablo in the east Bay.

Mount Diablo seen from the east nerea Kellogg Creek..

Above– view from a friends eyrie above Carmel valley.

Above-On a high hill overlooking the ocean sits The Hearst Castle.

Above a mere guest cottage door.
