Out in the big sky country of Eastern Oregon near the Idaho border there are lonely grasslands and prairies

In the far distance one sees outcrops of red rocks.

The 15 mile descent into the canyon through eroded spires of red volcanic rock.

The end of the road at the Owyhee River.
