Kodachrome Basin

June 9, 2021 by admin

Kodachrome Basin is in the south west part of Utah near to the big well visited sites such as Zion and Bryce but not as well visited. It is a much smaller scale place of course with it’s own delights.

As it’s name suggests it is a basin where the surrounding rock has eroded to reveal these red rocks formations. These photos are from more than one visit over the years. Some taken with ye olde slide film.

Each spot in the red rock country has it’s own unique formations.

Here one sees the almost wet looking stone like potters slip.
