Our stay in the Huestaca region was made very enjoyable by staying at The Posada James
A simple but elegant rustic hotel with stunning views close to the Edward James Gardens and the Tamul waterfalls.
Carlos our host was also an excellent cook and so there was no choice as to where to eat in the area.
The town of Xlitlia is actually up the hill from the gardens and the Posada.
The hills around town hang in mist much of the time.
Nothing in Xlitlia is flat . It is all steep hills up or down.
The church is built like a fortress on the only flat spot on the hill and is not particularly charming.
The main attraction of the town for me is The Leonora Carrington Museum….
A Carringtonesque bench in the town square.
