Las Pozas was created by Edward James an eccentric English poet and artist and patron of the Surrealist movement.
He had left England in 1938 and at first went California- but decided that he “wanted a Garden of Eden. He saw that Mexico was far more romantic and was already surrealistic and so in the late forties began a project that lasted until his death in 1984
